Diane…yes indeed, Beach Boys are unmistakeable. Also have to add that I'm thrilled your teenager is listening to oldies station! Some music should just never die:)

My teen daughter was playing a radio oldies station, and as a beach boys song came on, I couldn't help but think they are a great example of the concept of having a distinctive sound.

As someone who's outside the music industry, I find it interesting to learn how singers brand themselves. But as a fan of yours, the best part of this post for me was the part where you said 6Play will perform songs you wrote. Yay!!! You're a fantastic songwriter, and I'm so glad the world will hear more of your songs.
