Hi Judy. Very interesting article which accurately describes certain singers. Although every performer has some characteristics of entertainer and artist, your description of the important components seems right on. I was particularly amused by the emotional make-up of the two types of singer, immediately recognizing myself as NOT in the entertainment category! Losing myself in the music, whether singing opera or religious music in church, has always felt most natural. That’s why I’ve always admired performers who easily did both entertain and produce an artistic result. The greatest pop singer of all time, Frank Sinatra, comes to mind. Singers with beautiful voices but little emotion, like Vic Damone, unfortunately fall right in the middle, never becoming entertainers nor capable of producing a moving artistic endeavor.
Would you agree, the performers who exude a passion for their work while attaining impressive artistic delivery, become the greatest stars? Pavarotti was an extremely likable fellow who emitted streams of gorgeous notes and will be remembered forever. He was stiff on stage by some standards, but his jolly amble into a scene, brought smiles.

Thanks for another enjoyable article.
Best Regards and Be Well.
