Dear Agata, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this frustratingly chronic mucus issue! Did you try the Mullein extract? Or the lymph gland self-massage? While you’re seeing docs to help get to the cause, you need to do something I call ‘singing above the lava’. Definitely use eye language when you sing and speak; try to expand the upper back of your throat channel before sounding your voice. You might be interested in a vocal lesson with me, even just a 1/2 hour, to let me take you through this technique. Either way, don’t push your voice! And try some of the things in this post. Let me know what works for you!

This condition occured on my vocal cords within 3 weeks of me using one of the very popular on the market devices, based on bottle with the plastic thick pipe on it. The bottle and the plastic thing are closed.
I have visited several really great ENTs and osteopaths and they actually cannot see anything special… sending me to do some psychotherapy and sending me to detailed tests of my other nerves and muscles.
Your description above is perfect. Also, when I try to clear my throat in the way I would never do (like a heavy drinker somewhere in the park after spending the night there…) – there are super small pieces of clear thicker mucus coming out… and I get sing a note at a place I couldn’t before.
What to do to completely get rid of this old mucus…?
I am so tired of not knowing. Thank you for your post!!!

Just do 3 or 4 parts water to 1 part juice.

( a wedge of lemon in my water) and it got rid of it… only problem was that after two days of nothing but lemon water, it stimulated my acid reflux and one show it irritated my vocal cords to the extent where notes in the upper range were a bit of a problem.. so i stopped for two days and started it back up again only on a much more limited scale. Today i drank it in the car on the way to my show and i had no mucus and no acid reflux side effects.

so.. i'm kind of excited about it because this has been a problem for a very long time.. and it appears that i'm on the road to a permanent solution.. just a matter of how much and when.
