Human nature unfortunately has the dark side when evaluating the talent of others. Some fans of car racing are waiting for the crash and a few in the opera audience await the vocal crack. My singing teacher once told a group of us about to give a joint concert that some in the audience will NOT be impressed no matter how well you sing. So true. People's ears hear different things or may not hear what they want.
The great Enrico Caruso sang for the first time in his native Napoli and got panned. What were the critics not hearing? Caruso was so hurt by this experience, he would never sing in his home town again. The trolls have existed forever and will continue as long as some people have more hard earned talent than they.
