I'm so sorry you had all that trouble! My hope is that when you finally get that laryngoscopy done that you be pleasantly surprised Your voice is not damaged. But if it is, please trust the process of healing. Please touch base and let me know how you're doing.

Happy Fourth Judy!
I had two back to back bacterial infections earlier this Spring with LOTS of coughing. My voice is STILL shot. I couldn't get in to see the top voice doctor til July 31st, so I'm practicing complete vocal rest until then. The infections/sinus drainage/swelling is long gone. However, my throat is still sore when I breathe. The larynx/vocal cords are still damaged:*

So good to get your story! Yes, sometimes getting an examination reveals multiple problems you wouldn't have known about if you hadn't come for the initial question. Very happy for you that the lumps were harmless... wise that you got them checked out!

Thank you for your valuable advice. I was referred to an ENT specialist at my local hospital initially for some lumps at the back of my mouth. Fortunately these proved to be harmless cysts; however, the consultant went on to give me various tests and eventually made the diagnosis of Acid Reflux as the cause of my problems. He prescribed Gaviscon Advance to take for 6 weeks which should build a barrier to prevent acid from reaching my throat.
My problem with catarrh was also due to nasal polyps for which I was prescribed a steroid spray.
